About Brandon
Brandon Schmidt is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) who works with adolescents, adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and major life transitions.
His work is especially rooted in helping individuals who feel disconnected, stuck, uncertain, or out of alignment with themselves and the lives they want to live. Brandon is passionate about supporting clients as they explore questions surrounding identity, meaning, authenticity, freedom, and purpose—particularly during periods of transition, loneliness, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm.
Rather than focusing heavily on labels or diagnoses, Brandon centers therapy around understanding each person’s unique lived experience and helping clients reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways.

Approach
Brandon’s therapeutic style is person-centered, relational, and existential in nature. Drawing from Rogerian therapy, Existential Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), he creates a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel deeply heard and accepted.
He believes therapy is most effective when clients feel safe enough to honestly explore their thoughts, emotions, bodily experiences, and relational patterns. Rather than positioning himself as the “expert” on someone’s life, Brandon trusts that clients already hold deep inner wisdom, and his role is to help them reconnect with it.
His work also explores themes such as meaning, uncertainty, responsibility, mortality, freedom, and authenticity—recognizing these as deeply human experiences that often shape emotional struggles and growth.
What to Expect
Early sessions with Brandon are focused on building trust, connection, and understanding. He takes time to get to know clients as whole people—not just the challenges bringing them into therapy, but also their values, relationships, experiences, and what matters most to them.
Clients can expect a space that feels supportive, conversational, and pressure-free, with room to move at a pace that feels comfortable.
A Bit Outside the Office
Outside of therapy, Brandon enjoys music, traveling, collecting vinyl records, playing guitar, spending time outdoors, and being with family and friends. He’s also a proud father of two daughters who share his love of dancing.
A Note from Brandon
“It’s completely natural to feel nervous about starting therapy. You don’t need to come in with everything figured out or know exactly what to say. We can simply start where you are.
My role is to meet you with empathy, honesty, and without judgment, so you can move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
As Ram Dass said, ‘We’re all just walking each other home.’”
