Approach
Heather takes a collaborative, solution-focused approach to therapy. She works alongside clients to identify goals, set meaningful intentions, and create actionable steps toward the life they want to build.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Person-Centered approaches, Heather helps clients better understand their challenges, develop effective coping strategies, and create lasting change.
She believes therapy is most effective when it is grounded in a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, mutual respect, and genuine connection.
What to Expect
When beginning therapy with Heather, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and often lighthearted environment. She combines active listening, thoughtful questions, and occasional humor to help clients feel comfortable while exploring the challenges that brought them to therapy.
During the first session, Heather focuses on learning about your experiences, understanding your goals, discussing confidentiality and treatment planning, and determining together whether the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit.
Throughout the process, she helps clients identify obstacles, explore what has and hasn't worked in the past, and discover new possibilities for creating peace, healing, and growth.
A Bit Outside the Office
Heather is deeply passionate about helping others move toward greater peace, health, compassion, and wellness. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking, reading, and practicing yoga.
A Note from Heather
"It is understandable that feelings of nervousness arise when thinking of talking to a complete stranger about personal challenges. Start slowly with the recognition that the therapist is not a judge or jury, but rather someone who wishes to assist you on your journey of healing."
