About Hebeh

Hebeh Fares brings a deeply present, grounded, and compassionate approach to therapy, with a strong focus on supporting immigrants, refugees, children of immigrants, and individuals navigating the lasting impacts of war, colonialism, and displacement.

Many of her clients come from complex backgrounds shaped by trauma, anxiety, and depression, and she is especially passionate about creating a space where their full story can be held with care and understanding. Hebeh often works with Muslim clients, women, and individuals processing identity, cultural stress, and intergenerational experiences.

At the core of her work is a belief in simply being present with people in their lived experience — whether that is grief, anger, joy, or pain. She sees therapy as a space where clients can finally feel heard, not rushed or fixed, but deeply understood.

Training & Credentials

  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW)

Approach

Hebeh’s approach is relational, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, with a strong emphasis on trust, presence, and emotional safety.

She views the client as the guide in the therapeutic process, while she serves as a steady anchor, following the client’s pace, honoring their story, and offering support and encouragement along the way. Her work is especially informed by the needs of immigrant and refugee populations, where somatic and body-based approaches like Brainspotting can play a powerful role in healing.

At the heart of her approach is the belief that healing begins with being seen, heard, and held without judgment. She prioritizes presence over pressure, creating space for clients to simply be with what they are experiencing.

What to Expect

Your first session with Hebeh is designed to feel supportive and easing rather than overwhelming. While completing intake, she also focuses on getting to know you as a person: your story, your needs, and what feels most important to you in therapy.

She understands that starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it is your first time. Her goal is for you to leave the first session feeling lighter, more understood, and more hopeful about the path ahead.

A Bit Outside the Office

Outside of her work, Hebeh enjoys spending time with her family, strength training, going for walks and hikes, reading the Quran, and practicing Palestinian embroidery (tatreez). These practices reflect her connection to grounding, tradition, and creativity.

A Note from Hebeh

Starting therapy can feel scary, but it is also a powerful act of choosing yourself.

Hebeh believes that when you begin this journey, you are not only changing your own life, but also shifting patterns for generations that come after you. She often reflects on the idea: “It ran in my family until it ran into me.”

She honors the courage it takes to begin and holds deep respect for each client’s willingness to show up for themselves, even when it feels difficult.
