About Kate
Kate Streim brings a warm, collaborative, and deeply human approach to therapy, supporting adults, couples, postpartum individuals, and peri- and postmenopausal individuals as they navigate the emotional complexity of relationships, identity, and life transitions.
She primarily works with women who are managing the mental load of caregiving, motherhood, partnership, and professional life, often while trying to maintain a sense of self in the process. Many of her clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or disconnected from their own needs and well-being.
Kate is especially passionate about helping women reclaim their sense of agency, resilience, and self-understanding through all stages of life, from postpartum adjustment to later-life transitions.

Approach
Kate’s approach is holistic, relational, and grounded in collaboration. She views each person as a whole system where physical health, emotional experience, relationships, and environment all interact and shape well-being.
She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and mindfulness-based interventions to help clients identify patterns, regulate emotions, and reconnect with their strengths.
Kate works alongside clients rather than directing from above, offering tools, insight, and perspective while honoring that clients are the experts in their own lives. She often uses metaphors and relatable examples to make complex emotional experiences feel more accessible and manageable.
Her style blends structure with warmth, humor, and authenticity, helping therapy feel both supportive and genuinely human.
What to Expect
In early sessions, Kate focuses on creating a calm, comfortable space where you can begin to share your story at a pace that feels right for you.
There is no pressure to immediately dive into everything. Instead, therapy begins with building trust, understanding your experiences, and gently exploring what you hope to change or better understand.
Over time, sessions become a space to notice patterns, strengthen coping strategies, and reconnect with your own resilience.
A Bit Outside the Office
Outside of her work, Kate values time with family and friends, and brings a grounded, real-life perspective shaped by her own experiences navigating life transitions. She believes in authenticity and often brings humor and warmth into both her personal life and clinical work.
A Note from Kate
Feeling nervous about starting therapy is completely normal and often the hardest part of the process.
Kate emphasizes that there is no “right” way to do therapy. You set the pace, and her priority is helping you feel safe, respected, and supported from the very first session.
