Approach
Lisa’s work centers on building self-awareness, emotional regulation, resiliency skills and healthier patterns of thinking and responding. She integrates mindfulness, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Solution-Focused Therapy, self-compassion practices and EMDR into her sessions.
She believes lasting change happens through a trusting therapeutic relationship, consistent session attendance, and hard work. As that trust deepens, clients often feel more supported to take risks and challenge old patterns of thinking and behaving.
Lisa's style is supportive, encouraging and positive with her clients.
What to Expect
Early sessions focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, how you’ve been feeling, and what you hope to gain from the process. Lisa creates a calm, supportive environment and moves at a pace that feels manageable and comfortable.
For clients feeling nervous or overwhelmed, she prioritizes grounding and emotional safety first, helping clients settle into the experience without pressure.
A Bit Outside the Office
Outside of therapy, Lisa loves spending time with her family and animals, tending to her plants, listening to or playing music, creating, thrifting, trying new restaurants around town, and taking long walks.
A Note from Lisa
If a client feels nervous about starting therapy, Lisa will ask them if they would like to take a few deep breaths together or if they need to take a walk for a few minutes, to help them relax. Once the client feels more relaxed, she will ask them to begin discussing what has been difficult for them lately.
