About Margaret

Margaret McKenzie is a Licensed Social Worker who holds a Master of Social Work from The Ohio State University. She supports adults and LGBTQIA+ clients navigating anxiety, life transitions, self-worth concerns, relationship challenges, existential questions, and patterns that feel hard to shift.

She often works with clients in their mid-20s to mid-40s who are motivated for change and looking for steady, meaningful growth in how they relate to themselves and their lives.

Margaret brings a warm, grounded, and collaborative presence to therapy, with the belief that clients are the experts of their own experience.

Approach

Margaret’s approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing from CBT | Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, DBT-informed tools, and holistic therapeutic practices.

She focuses on helping clients recognize thought and behavior patterns, reconnect with strengths, and build practical, sustainable steps toward change. Her work is collaborative, meaning therapy is shaped together—not directed by one side.

She also integrates self-compassion and somatic awareness to support emotional regulation and deeper insight.

What to Expect

Early sessions focus on building trust, understanding your goals, and learning your story at a pace that feels comfortable. Margaret encourages openness and feedback so therapy can stay aligned with what feels helpful and supportive.

Over time, sessions explore both immediate challenges and deeper patterns that may be influencing current experiences.

A Bit Outside the Office

Margaret finds grounding in nature, food, music, time with loved ones, and everyday presence. As a partner and mother in a multicultural family, she values connection, curiosity, and ongoing personal growth.

A Note from Margaret

Feeling nervous about starting therapy is completely normal. It often shows you’re stepping into something meaningful. Therapy is simply a space to show up as you are and begin building clarity, support, and direction from there.
