About Nicole

Nicole Parente is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisor Designation who specializes in reproductive and women's wellness, grief, life transitions, relational healing, and integrative mind-body approaches to therapy. She works with adults and couples navigating a wide range of challenges including anxiety, chronic health concerns, identity exploration, relationship dynamics, and major life transitions.

Her clinical work also includes supporting individuals through perinatal and postpartum experiences, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, and family planning decisions. She is especially passionate about helping clients deepen their understanding of embodiment, sexuality, and body literacy, as well as those exploring psychedelic-assisted therapy and integration work.

Nicole brings a strong anti-oppressive lens to her practice, acknowledging the impact of systemic and political forces on mental health and incorporating this awareness into her therapeutic work.

Approach

Nicole’s approach is warm, collaborative, and empowering, with a strong emphasis on tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs, values, and lived experience. She integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), ACT, mindfulness, somatic therapy, and other mind-body approaches to support emotional processing and healing.

She believes therapy is most effective when clients are willing to engage in honest self-reflection, accountability, and vulnerability. At the same time, she emphasizes that the client defines what growth and success mean, and she partners with them in that process rather than directing it.

A key focus of her work is helping clients slow down and connect with the underlying patterns, emotions, and experiences that shape their current challenges, while supporting meaningful, sustainable change.

What to Expect

In early sessions, Nicole takes a slow and intentional approach to building connection and understanding your goals. The first appointment is often conversational and exploratory, giving space for you to share what feels comfortable while getting a sense of whether the fit feels right.

She prioritizes collaboration and clarity around what you want from therapy before moving into deeper work.

A Bit Outside the Office

Nicole finds grounding in time spent in nature, gardening, movement (running, walking, swimming, climbing), and connecting with her family. She values creativity, presence, and ongoing personal growth as part of her own life practice.

A Note from Nicole

“Feeling nervous about starting therapy makes sense. My goal is to create a warm relationship where you can show up as your truest self, and feel safely held in the process of exploring all parts of you.”
