About Trevor

Trevor Simmons is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over a decade of experience supporting adolescents, adults, and older adults through a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. He works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, health-related anxiety, and major life transitions, with a strong emphasis on helping individuals build practical tools for day-to-day change.

He enjoys working with diverse populations and adapts his approach to meet clients where they are, whether they are navigating personal stressors, relational challenges, or broader questions of direction and purpose.

Trevor is especially focused on helping clients translate insight into action—supporting meaningful, sustainable change in habits, routines, and thought patterns.

Training & Credentials

  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Bowling Green State University

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Walden University

Approach

Trevor’s approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), client-centered therapy, and solution-focused work. He places strong emphasis on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, helping clients understand how patterns develop and how they can be changed over time.

He balances structure with flexibility—working toward long-term goals while also allowing space to address emerging challenges as they arise. His style is both practical and collaborative, with the client maintaining an active role in shaping the direction of therapy.

A core part of his work involves helping clients identify unhelpful thought patterns and develop more adaptive ways of thinking and behaving that align with their goals.

What to Expect

The first session with Trevor is informal and conversational. It focuses on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and beginning to build a foundation for future work together.

Clients are encouraged to ask questions and share at their own pace. Early sessions focus on understanding symptoms, history, and goals, while also ensuring the therapist-client fit feels right.

A Bit Outside the Office

Outside of work, Trevor enjoys woodworking, kayaking, hiking, off-roading, traveling, and exploring new experiences. He values balance across work, health, and personal life, and brings that philosophy into his clinical perspective.

A Note from Trevor

Trevor recognizes that feeling nervous about starting therapy is completely normal and expected. He frames nervousness as a natural response to uncertainty and often as a meaningful first step toward change.

He emphasizes that therapy is a collaborative process where clients can move at their own pace while building toward the changes they want to see in their lives.
